Man suffers 'life threatening' injuries in city centre attack

FOUR people are being quizzed by detectives today after a man was left fighting for his life when he was attacked on Sheffield's busy West Street.
The man, from North Yorkshire, underwent emergency surgery in the Hallamshire Hospital in the early hours of today.

Police have described his injuries as "life threatening".

Detectives have not yet revealed how the man was injured but describ
ed the incident as a "violent crime".

Trouble erupted outside Aslans kebab shop on West Street in the city centre, close to Regent Street, just before 2am today.

Police were called to the scene where paramedics were dealing with the victim before he was rushed to hospital.

Officers sealed off the street until around 5.30am while a forensic examination got underway.

Three men and a woman have been arrested and are being quizzed by detectives.
