SHEFFIELD may be famous for the Arctic Monkeys - and now it is set to gain an Arctic MP!
Lib Dem MP Nick Clegg is to join an intrepid team of politicians who will brave extreme conditions in the Arctic Circle next month to raise money for good causes.
The cross-party group of MPs will face temperatures approaching minus 40C as they trek more than 186 miles on husky sleds.
The Sheffield Hallam MP will help raise cash for Crimestoppers, the Children's Society and Cancer Research UK.
The expedition, which departs on February 9 during the Parliamentary recess, will pass through Finland, Sweden and Norway and is designed to be carbon neutral.
The team will feed, clean and care for their husky dogs, build igloos to sleep in, and catch fish to survive.
The event has been set up by Westminster Challenge, an organisation campaigning for MPs to get more involved with British charities.

n The Arctic Monkeys are looking good for more glittering success after being nominated for four NME awards.
The Sheffield band is one of five - including Brits Muse, Kasabian and US bands My Chemical Romance and The Killers - up for four titles.
Last year the Monkeys made NME history by scooping Best New Band and Best British Band. This year they are in the running for Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Album and Best Music DVD.
The group described the nominations as "very nice" and said: "We didn't think we would get any this year".
They are up against Pete Doherty's band Babyshambles, as well as Muse, Oasis and Kasabian for Best British Band at the March 1 awards.
