KNITTING enthusiasts from South Yorkshire can do their bit to fight poverty by contributing to a giant blanket, which is being purled together to help mothers in the developing world.
The blanket will be presented to world leaders at a conference in New York to raise awareness about lack of health care during childbirth in the developing world.

Oxfam is launching the campaign with parenting website mumsnet.com and afterwards squares from the blanket will be sold in the charity’s shops.
