A PET parrot is being cared for by the RSPCA in Chesterfield – after being spotted sitting forlornly on the pavement outside a garage.
The stray male African grey has a ring on his leg, is in good condition, and is so friendly he hops on to strangers' hands.
RSPCA inspector Keith Ellis said the parrot will stay at the RSPCA Chesterfield Animal Centre until his owner is found.
It is thought the parrot may have flown from the Mansfield area of Nottinghamshire. Potential owners will be asked to verify the bird's ring number. Call 0300 1234 999.
