A GROUP of secondary school pupils came to Sheffield to complete a geographical study of the world's oldest professional football stadium.
The students from Essex visited Sheffield United's Bramall Lane ground for the second year running as part of their GCSE geography course.
The pupils have to complete a study that involves examining the impact a football stadium has on its surrounding environment and community.
The club's head of community Sue Beeley said: "I am delighted that we can be involved in this type of work. It gives us an opportunity to show that we are more than a football club.
"It is a real challenge to be involved in developing innovative projects linked to a variety of curriculum subjects."
The students began their visit at Legends of the Lane, where they were shown a presentation on the history of the club.
They were then taken on a tour of the ground before exploring the area around Bramall Lane.
Geography teacher Paul Mason organised the visit with help from United's John Garrett.
