A TOP of the range BMW had to be removed from tram tracks in Sheffield city centre by fire crews after it was accidentally driven across a bridge closed to cars.
The champagne-coloured BMW 530D hire car became stuck after the driver tried to cross the bridge on Commercial Street at around 6.30am on Sunday.

Paul Wood, crew manager from Central Fire Station, said: "We were called out by the police to help remove a car from the Supertram tracks on the bridge just past Commercial Street. The driver went up there accidentally and the car got stuck on the ballast."
