SHEFFIELD is bracing itself for blizzards which are set to sweep through the city tomorrow morning.
Weather forecasters have warned snow and high winds will hit between 6am and 9am - just in time to cause rush hour chaos.

The snow will continue throughout the morning into the afternoon and will be as much as 12cm on higher ground.

Freezing
temperatures will also cause icy conditions on the roads.

Motorists are being advised to leave their cars at home and use public transport instead.

Passengers can find out more details on www.travelsouthyorkshire.com or by calling 01709 515151.

Like Sheffield First buses will protect you from an accident, most that cover my area are over 18 years old! H plate bangers run on a shoe string. You dont get what you pay for in this city

I'd gladly use public transport, but every time we get "snow and high winds" the buses stop driving up our street.

Use public transport and sit in the traffic jam with all the cars.

12cm eh !!!!

If we had 0.5cm the city would still come to a standstill !

Just you watch, we're given 24 hours warning and I can confidently predict absolute utter chaos.

Note to teachers::::GET YOURSELVES TO WORK !

It only takes a couple of flakes for everyone to start driving like Mr. Magoo so I fully expect tomorrow to be like Fred Carno's Circus, complete with dancing monkeys.

So, are Sheffield council going to grit the roads the evening before like most other places have the savvy to, or leave it like they always do? Wait till the snow begins to fall, then the grit wagons themselves become stuck among the already stationary traffic..

The pre-warnings of bad weather (blizzards) to come within the region are as they say ‘forewarned is forearmed’. I would like to give credit were it is due – after my mention of it re: yesterday’s bad weather and bad news – seems to have put bad weather in the on-line headlines. Well done to the Sheffield Star and its editor Alan Powell. Also, the Abbeydale area is in the headlines and not Burngreave for a change – although the topic is education and not crime/murder. Matloub (Burngreave).
