SHEFFIELD bingo caller Roger Hartley is hoping his number comes up - when he takes part in a national Caller of the Year competition later this month.
The Gala Bingo employee won his place in the grand final by impressing judges in regional rounds.

Now the 33-year-old, from Parson Cross, faces an even tougher test as he competes against callers from all over the country to be crowned the nationa
l champion.

Roger, who has been worked in the bingo scene for 10 years and is currently based at the Wadsley club, said: "I am absolutely ecstatic to be in the final.

"With the support I have received from the public I feel like a true star and can't wait to show the judges what I'm made of!

"My bingo club has always prided itself on providing the best callers - I want to keep that reputation alive."

If he wins, Roger will walk away with a cash prize - and the chance to audition to be a caller on Gala TV channel.

The finals are in Birmingham on Sunday June 29.
