A TEENAGER riding a stolen motorbike which collided with a car in Sheffield was in a stable condition in hospital today.
The 17-year-old, who has not yet been named, suffered a fractured skull and internal injuries in the crash on Prince of Wales Road, Manor, on Saturday afternoon.

He remains in the Northern General Hospital today.

The teenager was riding a sil
ver Honda 125cc bike downhill in the direction of Darnall when he collided with a BMW 316 at around 1pm.

The car was travelling in the opposite direction and turning right into Harborough Avenue.

It is believed the bike rider passed through a red light into the path of the car.

He was thrown from his bike and hit metal railings on the side of the road before landing on the ground.

Two people in the BMW suffered injuries and were left very badly shaken.

Police said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet or any protective clothing.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 0114 220 2970.

I was also held up in the aftermath of the accident and seeing the bike in bits all over the junction and the ambulance and police cars was a shocking sight. I feel sorrier for the people who hit the biker - an uninsured crim putting his own and others lives at risk. If he survives he should be prosecuted to the full extent and locked up - chances are the police won't bother though.

With regard to my previous comments on this incident, I would like to offer my sincere apologies to the car driver and her family.
My comments were based solely on the information I read in the Star, who, with their usual disregard for accuracy, managed to leave out relevant facts about the accident.
Once again please wil you accept my apologies.
