Chainsaw victim named

A MAN who died after his throat and neck were cut with a chainsaw in what is thought to be a tragic accident has been named.
David Michael Henry Hopkinson, aged 21, from Stumperlowe Park Road, Fulwood, Sheffield, is thought to have slipped while working near his home.

The chainsaw cut into him causing severe injuries, including the severing of a major artery.

He wa
s hanging upside down from a tree when emergency services arrived.

Paramedics worked with firefighters to administer first aid.

Mr Hopkinson was taken to the Northern General Hospital but later died from his injuries.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned while further investigation is carried out.

His family were today too distressed to comment.
