Published Date: 19 August 2008
A HEAVILY pregnant Sheffield woman was punched and kicked by a gang of teenage girl yobs - after she politely asked them to move on from outside her Sheffield home.
Debbie Parker's unborn baby's life was put at risk when she was viciously attacked after she challenged the yobs aged as young of 13 who were causing trouble for a neighbour.

The mum-of-four, aged 37, of Dugdale Road, Parson Cross, is seven months pregnant and expecting a little boy.

She said she simply asked the gang to move on and to take their empty beer cans away with them when she was verbally abused and insulted.

Debbie walked towards the group when they became abusive and she was punched by one of the thugs.

And as she tried to chase after the girl she stumbled to the ground and landed on her bump.

But instead of helping her to her feet she claims the gang repeatedly kicked her around her body and head, pulled her hair and hurled cans at her.

Debbie, who suffered a miscarriage last year, said she feared for her baby's life.

"I want these yobs named and shamed when the police catch them - they are animals for what they did to me and my baby - they could have killed it," she said.

"I was outside my house when I heard them causing trouble for a neighbour and told them to move off our street because they don't belong here.

"They started to call me names about my size and shout abuse at me so I walked after them and was punched by one of them when I asked her what her problem was.

"I lost my footing and stumbled, landing right on the baby and that's when they started booting me in my head, side and stomach - they didn't give a damn about the baby.

"They were pulling my hair and throwing beer cans at me.

"I lost a baby last year and was thinking that it was going to happen again but I went to hospital and they found a trace of its heart and I just felt relief.

"I managed to hit out at a couple of them in self defence because all I was thinking about was my baby.

"They need to be caught for this - they can't get away with it. They only looked between 13 and 15."

The attack, which happened on Sunday night, is being investigated by police.

Anyone with information should call 0114 220 2020 quoting incident number 1050 of August 17.

They need lynching. Yet more disgusting behaviour from our local youths. Only way to stop it is to keep them all locked in doors.

Name and shame them and see what their parents have to say, then prosecute them.

The kids should be lynched yes, that is for sure. The comment about parents though is very harsh and not on. If you have teenage children of your own then you will know how hard it is to bring them up in this society. Also unless you don't know the full story then you shouldn't comment at all. Sheffield 5 is not full of scrubbers either, I wonder where you are from 'George Zip', sounds as though you are a very intelligent person!

Absolutely disgusting behaviour - my wife is pregnant and if I caught anyone abusing and hurting her in such a way I would hunt them down and tear out their throats......then we'll see how big and hard they are. I'm a calm, rational person normally but such behaviour makes my blood boil.

What about a pregnant woman drinking a can of larger and shouting abuse. Is that good behaviour I ask?

Like I said, you don't know the full story, so you shouldn't comment. You only have to look at the picture of this woman and draw your own conclusions. If you lived on Parson Cross then you would know this woman and know her history. But you obviously come from somewhere else and believe you are better, like you always do!

being pregnant she shouldnt have even tried to tackle these kids she was putting her baby at risk

Well apparantly there was nothing to tackle. It was an argument a couple of doors down, and she decided to get involved. So yes, she had no need to get involved and put her baby at risk. I am sure that the other side will come out in the paper soon anyway, but people always decide to believe the first story, from whomever decided it was best to rush to the newspaper and get their side across as soon as possible.

These Kids should be sent on to somthing like bad lads/girls boot camp for a few months, get them doing community service. The parents are also to blame. These kids should not be drinking either , This is what fuels it all. This country is going down hill fast and control is needed NOW NOT TOMMOROW. The goverment has no Go in them either get all this S*** sorted. More policing is also needed.!!!

If the parents are unable to control the actions of their offspring then the children should be taken into care while the parents are prosecuted for negligence.

Why is it you rarely hear about these packs of feral scumbags in places like Dore? That's right, because Mum & Dad don't give 13 year old Chantalle-Armani a six pack before sending her out to lurk on the streets.
