A CANNABIS factory was uncovered in a series of early morning raids by police in Rotherham.
The raids were carried out at several homes in the East Dene and Eastwood areas and led to a number of arrests and the discovery of hydroponic equipment used to cultivate cannabis.
Police say at least six people could face charges including possesss
ing controlled drugs, intent to supply and cultivating cannabis.
A 36-year old man arrested at a house in Herringthorpe Valley Road has already been charged with possessing cannabis and will appear before Rotherham Magistrates next month.
A 21-year old man arrested at a house in St John's Road, Eastwood, has been charged with possessing controlled drugs with intent to supply and will also appear in court next month.
Officers also found a quantity of stolen goods during the raid, including electrical items.
The sting was part of Operation Impact, which is intended to disrupt drug dealing in the Rotherham area. Already a number of people have appeared in court charged with drugs offences as a result of previous raids.
The latest raids were carried out at lightning speed to try and prevent suspected drug dealers and users getting rid of their stash.
