J&R Wedding Chair Covers is run by Rebecca Lawson, 25, of Clarke Avenue, Laughton, Sheffield.
Rebecca set up the business after marrying Steven Lawson in October and insists she called Trading Standards for advice and had been told the business was 'all correct'.
She claimed her address was on the website and the £50 deposit requirement ha
d always been included in the terms and conditions, including those on her website and it was up to brides to read them.
The mum-of-three also said she'd been forced to change her number after falling victim to a phone scam, but she insisted she 'always responded' to emails...and she didn't know why some did not get through: "People aren't paying the deposit so, when they don't get covers, they say I'm in the wrong. What more can I do?
"People say I'm trying to con them but I'm the one being conned."
Mrs Lawson defended her business: "I don't know what their problem is. If I knew I would rectify it. They just need to phone me or email me.
"I had a horrendous wedding, everything went wrong apart from the chair covers, which were brilliant. I always said I would never do that to anyone."
Furious brides have posted comments about the firm on websites including You and Your Wedding, Moneysavingexpert and Facebook.
Mrs Lawson said she had complained and some were taken down after they became "defamatory".
