MILLIONS of pounds are to be invested in groundbreaking medical and clinical research in Sheffield.
Scientists at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust have been granted almost £4 million to carry out pilot studies into diseases over the next five years.
Diabetes experts from the Children's Hospital have received almost £2 million to run a t
rial aimed at helping educate children with diabetes to adjust their insulin intake according to their diet.
And a project team at the hospital's departments of Clinical Chemistry and Genetics has been awarded £1.8 million to lead a national study to detect inherited disorders in early childhood.
