ASHGATE Hospice in Chesterfield will be more than £30,000 better off next week when staff from the town's Midlands Co-op department store hand over the fruits of their fundraising.
Employees from the store on Elder Way raised £31,600.37 by holding fundraising events throughout the year, including fancy dress days and competitions.

The money was raised in memory of a much-loved and sadly-missed colleague, Val Exford, who had
worked at Midlands Co-op for over 20 years before losing her battle against cancer in November 2007 aged 65.
