SPORTING stars joined bank staff holding a charity ball – which raised £30,000 for good causes.

The black tie event, organised by HSBC workers, was held at Hellaby Hall Hotel and guests included former boxers Joe Egan and Johnny Nelson, referee Howard Webb and Owls footballer Reda Johnson.

Organiser Sue Pearce, regional commercial premier manager for HSBC, said: “The ball supported Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Safe@Last children’s charity and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

“We raised £30,000 in total, with donations matched pound for pound by HSBC.”
