Sheffield’s Carr House Meadows Nature Reserve has been awarded a £24,137 grant to help restore the 14 small meadows that make up the site.

The grant, to Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust, is one of 25 - totalling almost £100,000 - awarded by The Veolia Environmental Trust, to community and environmental projects in England.

The project will restore the meadows’ traditional appearance and high biodiversity value, with fields rich in wild flowers and abundant with insects and invertebrates.
