A COLLECTION of photographs are to be buried for future generations - so they can find out how amazing 2012 really was.

The images are being placed in a time capsule celebrating the creativity of Chesterfield communities in 2012 in a project organised by the Chesterfield Action for Arts Forum.

The capsule will be put inside a stainless steel diamond, made by Sterling Machining, to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Year.

It will then be buried in the town’s Queen’s Park later this year.

The first photographs to be included show the prototype of the capsule and a new counterweight that hangs on the Mayor of Chesterfield’s chain.

Pictures of flags created by schoolchildren and of an open arts group making commemorative Jubilee tiles will also be included.
