A Sheffield social enterprise is offering residents full body massages from just £1 to mark its first birthday.
Affordable Community Massage hopes to raise cash for the Zest Healthy Living Centre in Upperthorpe – which now runs the area’s library – through the scheme.
The centre has supported the enterprise’s evening massage clinics.
Founder Helen Martin said: “I set up based on the idea of ‘affordable massage for all’ – massage shouldn’t be something only reserved for the rich or elite athletes, it should be as easy as getting your car serviced once a month or nipping to the dentist for a check up.
“The Zest centre relies on funding from donations and will be using the money for refurbishments and to support the library that was closed early this year through council cuts and is now entirely volunteer-led.”
Treatments are available for a minimum £1 donation on a first come, first served basis.
Residents must like the Affordable Community Massage’s page on Facebook and write ‘happy first birthday’. They must message with a preferred appointment day and time, between 5pm and 8pm on Tuesday, January 27, or Wednesday, January 28, before 6pm today.
