FREQUENTLY younger music fans miss out on gigs because of venue age restrictions. So Mybe follow a recent sold out show at The Boardwalk by giving under 18s a chance to catch their return to the Snig Hill music spot a week on Saturday
An all ages, no alcohol affair, singer Jim Pinder explains: "Although we had an amazing night when we played in May, we were a little disappointed to hear lots of kids had been turned away because they were under 16. Obviously the venue couldn't do anything about it as it's the law but we thought maybe we could."
After speaking to venue promoter Chris Wilson, the band stage a show from noon.
"A safe environment is a major priority with this gig. We really want this to be a positive thing where kids can come down and just enjoy themselves," says bassist Ross Bannister.
The audience will be asked to get involved by filming Mybe playing future single Bring Out The Blues on their phones. Footage sent to the band will be edited and each "cameraman" credited on possibly the world's first video shot on mobiles, solely by fans.
Calling All The Heroes band It Bites return to the Classic Rock Society on Saturday and Wath's Montgomery Hall.
The band split in 1990 but re-formed in 2006 with original members John Beck on keyboards and drummer Bob Dalton now joined by John Mitchell (Arena, Kino and CRS guitarist of the year 2005) and bass player Lee Pomeroy (of Rick Wakeman's English Rock Ensemble and original It Bites singer Francis Dunnery). Copies of new album Tall Ships will be available at the gig, opened by Jebo with songs from the sequel to their debut.
