AMERICAN act OneRepublic have nothing to Apologize about...
The Colorado-based band's single of the same name has sold more than seven million copies worldwide. The debut album from which it came, Dreaming Out Loud, has also sold a seven-figure amount so far.

But since the band was formed in 2002 by songwriter Ryan Tedder and schoolfriend Zach Filkins, they've had their fair share of ups and downs, with several line-up changes and also the indignity of being dropped by their first record label just before releasing an album which had taken two and a half years to record.

However, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, and specifically MySpace, they didn't disappear, becoming the number one unsigned act on that site.

They didn't remain unsigned for long, as top producer Timbaland - who had previously worked with Tedder while he was paying his dues as a songwriter - picked them up to become the first rock act signed to his Mosley Music label. Since then it's been uphill all the way,
As well as his OneRepublic work, Tedder is also still writing material for others and co-wrote and produced Leona Lewis's Bleeding Love.
