ROTHERHAM United have heeded advice from police to improve security measures ahead of tomorrow's Yorkshire derby with Leeds United at Don Valley Stadium.
South Yorkshire Police suggested a limit on ticket sales to avoid Leeds fans accessing areas reserved for home supporters.

Tickets will be limited to fans who appear on the Millers database - none will be available on the night of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy match.

A club spokesman said: "This is to ensure the safety of all and ensure that we all enjoy the game."

Rotherham fans can get on the data base by pre-purchasing a ticket or providing a ticket stub from the Grimsby game. Tickets will not be sold after 2.30pm tomorrow.

Leeds were beaten 2-0 at Peterborough last weekend.

The kick-off was brought forward to noon to prevent drinking and hooliganism.

Local police said almost 4,200 away fans were shepherded in and out of the city virtually without incident.

There were only seven match-day arrests for drunkenness and minor public order offences.

Leeds goalie David Lucas, formerly of Sheffield Wednesday, could play tomorrow despite injuring a finger in the warm-up at Peterborough.

Lucas trained yesterday, wearing a splint. Alan Sheehan is also likely to be available after recovering from a hamstring complaint.

n Eric Cantona says he had a 'bad relationship' with manager Howard Wilkinson during the Sheffield man's spell at Leeds.

Wilkinson sold the Frenchman to Manchester United for just £1 million following Leeds' title win in 1991, sparking almost two decades of success at Old Trafford.

"We didn't have the same views on football," Cantona said. "I had a bad relationship with the manager, Wilkinson. At Leeds football was played the old way - I think you say kick and then rush."
