KAREN Newbold writes on behalf of her father, Peter Douglas Hardy, who went to Hunters Bar School and has just celebrated his 74th birthday.
She says: "He has asked me to try and locate Peter Russell who was his mate back in 'the old days'. All he can remember is that he lived on Glenalmond Road in Sheffield and that he went on to serve in the Royal Tank Regiment, serving
in Berlin. If anyone knows of Peter it would be great if you could get in touch."

JANE Barnes would like to contact her cousin Jean (nee Headworth), daughter of Alice Headworth (nee Dalton), who lived at Brinsworth.

She says: "We lost contact after our mothers passed away in the 1990s. I have been researching our family tree and would love to give Jean the information, also to ask her for more details of her mother's upbringing."

DIRK von der Ley in Germany would like to re-establish contact with his former pen-pal Sharon Hepworth.

The last contact he had with her was 10 years ago, when she was planning a round-the-world trip.

He says: "Ten years ago she was living at 39, Onslow Road, Greystones, Sheffield and in the 1980s she lived at Hill Top Road, Salendine Nook, Huddersfield."

CAN you help Dr Andrea Petrie in Australia to find out more about her family?

She writes: "I am researching my ancestry and have traced my great grandparents Charles and Sarah Binns to Norton Woodseats. In the 1901 Census, they were living at 20, Welby Place, Norton Woodseats, Sheffield.

"At that time, my great grandfather Charles Binns was 39 and a Railway Inspector. Their children were Charles H Binns, aged 13, Elsie Binns (my grandmother) eight, Stanley Binns, six, and Allan Binns, one.

"My great grandmother, Sarah Binns, died in 1905 but I have no further knowledge of other family members. I have photos of my grandmother, Elsie, in Edwardian dress with a small group of other girls at what looks to be a 'private' school.

"Can any of your readers assist with local information from that era? I am interested in hearing from anyone who may be a descendant of any of this Binns family or who may know of them."

JIM Biglin is trying to find his only relative, his cousin Jodi.

He says: "She and I both moved house at about the same time and we have lost contact with one another. I understand she still lives in Sheffield, but none of her former neighbours seems to know her new address."

•Contact: Jim Biglin at 11 Wardour Drive, Grantham, NG31 9TY.
