She writes: "I'm desperate to find these two people who are very important to me. I lost contact with my old school friend Clara when her parents and family moved to Nottingham about 1972-73. We were best friends at Moorfield School in Bolsover. I left school in 1974.

"The second person is my nephew - my husband's brother's son. Karl was like a son to us but he got in with a bad crowd at 16 and we haven't seen or heard of him since. The last time we saw him was 1983 or 1984. Up to him being 15, he stayed with us and came on holiday with us.

"The last we heard of him, he'd moved to Scarborough. His parents are called Gordon and Kay. He was very close to his Grandpa Evans and has no idea he passed away in 2003."

Mr D Elwell from Doncaster is searching for information, particularly the place and date on birth of John Mayfield.

He says: "I know that in 1901 John lived with his wife Emma (nee Harvey), sons James and John and also a 'boarder' Frank Garfitt at 124 Jubilee Road, Darnall. In 1910 his daughter Harriett was born at 29 Plowman Street.

"Later, in 1932, he lived with Emma at 99 Jubilee Road where, on January 20, 1937, he died. His son was present at his death.

"His wife Emma died at 60 Laurel Road, Armthorpe on July 27, 1941 in the presence of their daughter - and my wife's mother - Harriett. I think John's father was called Samuel. Please can you help in this search?"
