VIC Roberts from South Wales would like to make contact with a man who called him recently after an article in The Star's Now & Then column.
The caller phoned Vic about his Welsh father who had studied at the Mining Engineering College in Sheffield and had married a local girl.
Vic says: "The gentleman who phoned asked if I had known his father in 1946. He was calling on his mobile phone but must have run out of time or it's possible he may have thought I had hung up on him. I'm hoping he might phone me again. Before we were cut off, he mentioned that he would write to me, but I've heard nothing yet."
