Doncaster College staged its first music festival with headline dance act Urban Jokers leading the way and rounding off a week of induction activities at the Hub.

Doncaster’s very own Pierre Lafayette and Sia Lord, who make up Urban Jokers, have been making a name for themselves in recent years.

The twosome have established themselves as one of the top UK dance duos, performing on Sky TV’s ‘Got to Dance’, BBC’s ‘Move like Michael Jackson’, ITV’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, and appearing in adverts and touring the UK with acts such as Diversity.

They have described their act as ‘Inventive, Unpredictable, and Explosive,’ and they performed their unique fusion of street dance with physical theatre, in front of an audience of excited students at the Hub, before staging a signing session for scores of eager fans.

Rosie Browning, 21, a Level 3 Creative Media Apprentice at the College, and who watched their act said, “They were full of life and very funny, and their wacky routines, incredible coordination and crazy personalities showed through in their performance. I thought they were epic.”

Also appearing at the festival were student bands, singers and performing arts students.
