LEARN how to taste beer and ales from an expert - by heading along to an event at the Sheffield Tap pub.
The popular real ale bar at Sheffield rail station, which opened last year and is run by Thornbridge Brewery, is holding a tutored beer-tasting class hosted by master brewer Alex Barlow, who has written the award-winning All Beer Guide.
It involves a 90-minute session where people can taste six ale, lager and lambic beers using an All Beer-branded Flavourmax glass, which can be kept afterwards.
There will be three draught and bottled beers being tasted, in 200ml servings, from Sheffield Tap’s range of worldwide treats.
Join Alex for the event on Tuesday from 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £20 per person and are available in advance. Just call into the pub, which is situated on platform 1B of the station or can be accessed from Sheaf Street.
