WWE, Motorpoint Arena

WWE’s unique brand of action-packed wrestling entertainment is returning to Sheffield tomorrow.

It’s certainly a long way from all the grapple and grunt stuff that some of us remember from ITV show World of Sport on Saturday afternoons, presided over by Kent Walton.

Some of us used to watch Giant Haystacks et al in the hope that some little old lady ringside would get over-excited and hit a naughty wrestler with their umbrella.

Famous fans in those days reportedly included the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen Mother and Margaret Thatcher.

This will the 21st time that the titans of American wrestling have done battle at the Motorpoint Arena – with the first show playing at the Arena way back in October 1991.

That’ll be ancient history to some young fans!

As ever, fans of all ages will be able to see all their favourite WWE Superstars in action with a few surprises, often literally thrown in.

The line-up tomorrow includes the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match with Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton, a six-man tag match, The Shield vs Kane, Ryback and Curtis Axel, The Miz, Big E, Bad News Barrett, The Rhodes Brothers, Jack Swagger with Zeb Colter, Fandango, Summer Rae, Santino Marella, Emma, Alexander Rusev with Lana, and many more. The line-up is subject to change, however.

The action starts at 7.30pm tomorrow night.

Tickets are available in person from the venue, online through the Arena website, www.motorpoint, or through the ticket hotline on 0114 256 5656.
