Noll's in from the outback

ANOTHER young face in WOTW is Shannon Noll - a superstar down under but a relatively new name this side of planet Earth.

Starring alongside Jennifer as the Parson, he has plenty in common with the actress in that he has had to overcome his own adversity to get where he's at.

His UK debut album What Matters Most is out this month and although he is a newcomer to us, with 10 consecutive top 10 singles on the ARIA charts.

It certainly wasn't always like that. Shannon was born and grew up in a tiny Australian outback town with his two older brothers on their parents' isolated 4,500-acre sheep farm.

When his father was killed in a farming accident the bank foreclosed on the farm and they were forced to sell a property owned by the Noll family for more than 100 years.

Shannon saw music as a way of earning enough cash for his family's survival and so auditioned for the first season of the reality series Australian Idol. He made it all the way to the final where he was runner up.

Joining Jennifer and Shannon in WOTW are Manfred Mann's Chris Thompson and Justin Hayward from The Moody Blues.
