Generous shoppers at the Co-op store on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield have donated £2,300 to the Royal British Legion.
The figure was unveiled at the official re-opening of the shop which has been given a makeover.
The store was officially re-opened by Clive Gilmore, from the Royal British Legion, and Co-operative colleague Barbara Foster, aged 82.
Clive and his colleagues spent a week in the shop and managed to collect £2,300 in customer donations.
In the last 10 years volunteers have collected more than £28,000.
Co-op store manager Peter Cooper said: “The work of The Royal British Legion is so valuable and I am delighted that we were able to raise vital funds for such a worthwhile cause.”
