Revellers are heading out on a festive pub crawl around Sheffield – and all for a noble cause, of course.
The bus tour of city pubs is being run by travel campaign Not Driving, which encourages South Yorkshire residents to use public transport rather than cars when out drinking during the festive season.
The event is happening on Wednesday, December 11 in association with Thornbridge Brewery, taking in venues such as the Hallamshire House, Dada, The Bath Hotel and The Greystones.
Local bands Screaming Maldini and The Hosts – plus a special surprise guest – are also set to put in an appearance.
Guests are asked to come in fancy dress, mince pies will be served and even Santa Claus is expected to join in the fun.
Organisers have teamed up with Thornbridge to offer a specially brewed ‘winter warmer’ ale called Myrissty, on sale at Sheffield pubs from Monday.
The drink has been prepared with traditional winter spices, including nutmeg.
To win a place on the pub crawl, as well as the opportunity to take a friend along, people should log on to www.notdriving.co.uk and enter the number of miles for a regular journey they make that does not involve driving, for example walking or taking the bus.
