RHYMES FOR A REASON: I love wintry things
I love the way the sun Flings out its rays
As it escapes
From the horizon
Before it's shrouded once again
By clouds
For the day
I love the way warm wind
Sometimes blows on
Grey days
In late winter
Seething spinning, roving
From warmer places
To warmer places
I love the way tendrils
Of spiders webs and roots
Strain haphazardly
Out of the hanging basket
Dusted in frost
Making strange new beautiful shapes
When lacquered in crystals
By Rachel Butcher, aged 13, of Dronfield
