Catering students at Barnsley College held a wartime-themed afternoon tea to raise money for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

The event, held in the college’s Zest restaurant, saw guests enjoy authentic wartime food, including toasted fruit teacakes, spam, beef dripping and potted meat sandwiches.

Students wore wartime- style clothing to serve their guests.

Student Jae Jae Warwick, aged 19, said: “We really enjoyed researching the menus for the afternoon tea.”
