How about hat as X Factor winner Matt Cardle warms up for tour in Sheffield - VIDEO
POP star Matt Cardle gave a sneak preview of his upcoming debut tour with an acoustic set for a few lucky fans behind closed doors last night in Sheffield.
And he proved he’s still got the X Factor.
The 2010 series winner, now celebrating over 300,000 sales of his debut album Letters, thrilled around 200 competition winners, including Star readers, at the latest Real Radio Intimate Performance.

Cardle, aged 28 - who beat Rebecca Ferguson and One Direction into first place - abandoned his trademark peak cap in favour of a woolly hat to keep warm in the aptly named Winter Garden.
His note perfect smouldering vocals soon sent temperatures soaring with a set list including the album title track, a cover of Duffy’s Mercy, his debut number one, When We Collide and next single, a love ballad called Amazing, out February 19.
South Yorkshire fans were disappointed when promoters missed Sheffield off his forthcoming 23-date tour.
So he jumped at the chance when Real Radio teamed up with Sheffield City Council and the Mercure St. Paul’s Hotel to stage last night’s exclusive invite-only show, backed by The Star.
Now he says he dreams of a date back at the city’s Motorpoint Arena.
“I’d love to play there and fingers crossed that will happen at some stage,’’ he revealed.
“It’s been a busy 12 months. I’m working on a new album and we’ve got the new single out soon. It’s an EP, including a new version of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, which went down well on The X Factor.”
Ricky Durkin, Programme Director of Real Radio Yorkshire said: “Matt has an amazing voice and proved he really has got the X Factor. We were delighted to bring him to Sheffield.”
