Counting the Hours until release of brilliant track
THE Hours – currently playing just about every festival you can shake a can of Carling at – are re-releasing brilliant single Ali In The Jungle on July 9 – even if the Reverend has "stolen" their line.
His recent hit Heavyweight Champion Of The World also boasts the lyric: "If you're not living on the edge/You take up too much room".
Former Elastica and Pulp man Antony Genn says he has since met Jon 'Reverend' McClure and all is well between the two camps.
"We're not the first to use that line but we used it first most recently," he says.
Ali was previously a limited edition single but is widely regarded as the strongest contender for a hit on the former Joe Strummer & the Mascaleroes men's under-rated album Narcissus Road.
"In life you've got to worry about what you can control and you can control how hard you work. So we are in the studio all the time – I want to make another record: you cannot wait around waiting for the world to discover you."
An animated video for Ali has been made by Swedish film-maker Jonas Odell, creator of the award-winning promo for Franz Ferdinand's Take Me Out as well as videos for Erasure, Goldfrapp and Audiobullys.
