Jubilee sports day planned
residents of Bawtry can look forward to a Diamond Jubilee Sports Day taking place on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 5.
It is being organised by Bawtry Action for Recreation and Sport at the town’s Memorial Sports Field in conjunction with Bawtry Churches Together and Bawtry Retail Association.
As well as the usual races there will be a junior mini-cricket tournament, five-a-side football, welly throwing and a coconut shy, dancing and gymnastic displays, and craft and cake stalls.
A new event this year is the chance to have a go at playing polo.
Anyone able to help on the day with erecting marquees, races and other attractions should contact Matthew Brearley on 01302 710944.
The event kicks off at 2pm.
