Heeley Christmas lights switch-on

On Friday 5 December at 6.30 the Heeley Christmas lights will be switched on near the Heeley Co-op.

Heeley Development Trust has organised activities and events for all the family including a free raffle, Lantern Parade with lanterns made by children in Meersbrook Bank, Ann's Grove and Carfield schools.

A carol concert will begin in Heeley Parish Church at about 7pm and there will be guest appearances from Santa, Meg Munn, Denise Reaney, The Young Peoples Voice Editor Georgia, Carfield Choir and Escafeld Brass Band during the evening.

A spokesman said: "Its going to be a brilliant night so come along (and don't bring any rain with you).

"This event has been supported by Heeley Entertainments and Activities Team and The Heeley and Arbourthorne Area Panel, many thanks to you both, and to Heeley Parish Church for letting us have a carol concert on the eve of their big Christmas Fayre."
