Steel City stripper movie The Full Monty has been named as the greatest South Yorkshire movie of all time in an online-poll.

The 1997 comedy classic was the winner in our online vote to find the region's best films which have been filmed or set in South Yorkshire.

The heartwarming tale of a gang of unemployed men who turn to stripping to make a living, claimed top spot ahead of 1969 drama Kes, the much-loved Barnsley-filmed movie about a young boy's bond with his pet kestrel.

Starring Robert Carlyle and Mark Addy, The Full Monty was shot all over Sheffield and features a string of recognisable places and landmarks including the Tinsley cooling towers, Attercliffe and Shiregreen Working Men's Club.

Third spot went to 1996 mining flick Brassed Off, starring Ewan McGregor and Pete Postlethwaite and which tells the story of a colliery band's musical success against the backdrop of pit closures and personal struggles. It was filmed largely in Grimethorpe but also featured scenes in Doncaster.

However, proving less popular were Sean Bean's football movie When Saturday Comes, which tells the tale of a factory worker playing for Sheffield United and Among Giants, the 1998 Pete Postlethwatie flick about electricity pylon workers.
