MUSIC fans are set to flock to Clumber Park for the popular Flashback Festival.
Pop stars, classical singers and rock bands are booked for the three-day event, with ticket sales for two of the days already ahead of last year’s figures.
Event organiser Neil Butkeraitis said: “Since Alfie Boe played at the Queen’s Jubilee party we have seen a surge in bookings to almost match last year’s figures already for the classical evening and with the very strong following for ’80s bands we know we will easily match last year’s crowd of 6,000.
“August is set to be the hottest and driest month of the summer so we are really looking forward to three great days of music and sunshine - and with our prices we feel we are helping music fans to enjoy their music in the midst of the recession.”
The weekend kicks off on Friday, August 17, with a new event - Rockin’ The Park - headlined by Britain’s leading Pink Floyd tribute band Brit Floyd and featuring a lighting and laser show.
Also on the line-up are Hawkwind, Carl Palmer, Focus, Curved Air and The Strawbs.
On Saturday, the 80s Flashback Festival, will be headlined by OMD and will feature Marc Almond, Go West, ABC, Belinda Carlisle and The Christians.
On Sunday, Alfie Boe will provide the grand finale to the trio of concerts, with a performance with his orchestra.
