Why plumbing isn't just a pipe dream
TEENAGER Carly Bodman is flushed with success after winning a plumbing apprenticeship at Doncaster College.
The Dunscroft 18-year-old has become one of the college's first Fresh Start students to enrol on a mainstream course.
The Fresh Start programme is designed for youngsters aged 16 to 19 not currently studying or in full-time employment.
Students study on various short courses for 15 weeks, covering subjects such as hair and beauty, floristry, animal care, childcare, performing arts, creative arts, hospitality and catering IT, travel and tourism, construction, technology and much more.
Carly has been specialising in plumbing during the 15-week course at the college's Doncaster Waterfront base and has now been accepted on to a plumbing apprenticeship there starting in September.
She said: "I have really enjoyed the Fresh Start course, it's given me an insight into plumbing."
