Wall-to-wall celebrities welcome visitors to the town
KEVIN Keegan, Paddington Bear and Diana Rigg are all welcoming visitors to Doncaster... on new murals at the town's Transport Interchange.
The work of art depicts iconic people and places with links to Doncaster - which includes Paddington Bear who was manufactured in Doncaster as a toy figure by Jeremy Clarkson's mother Shirley.
The murals of the town's great and good were made by Doncaster College's BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design students.
Ian Latham, Programme Manager for Art and Design at the College said: "The students have worked really hard under the guidance of Graham Firth, their course leader, and we are extremely proud of the standard of work and of their knowledge of Doncaster.
"We all hope the murals will generate a lot of discussion and provide some amusement for waiting passengers."
Student Scott Shaxted said: "The project gave us a great opportunity to learn more about Doncaster and the people from Doncaster who are now celebrities."
