VIRGIN: South Yorkshire's first F1 team unveil VR-01 car - VIDEO

SOUTH Yorkshire's first ever Formula 1 team have unveiled the racing car which will take on Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes - watch the video.

VIDEO: Press the play button to see Virgin Racing drivers Lucas di Grassi, Timo Glock and Luiz Razia talking about the season ahead - and experts explaining their uniquely designed racing car.

The team, based at Dinnington, near Rotherham, adopted the revolutionary technique of designing the car digitally, as opposed to the conventional method of scale models and wind tunnels.

It was revealed on the team's website - but here is the first video of it, in the spotlight.

Sir Richard Branson, chairman of the Virgin group, was blown away by it, and said: "What a car!"

The car's first F1 test will be an outing in Jerez, Spain, on Wednesday, February 10, 2010.
