Two hurt in crash on A1
A MAN was treated in hospital for head injuries and broken ribs after the car he was travelling in broke down in the outside lane of a Doncaster motorway, leading to a five car pile-up.
The driver of the blue Hyundai car, a woman, also suffered head injuries in the smash on the southbound A1(M) carriageway between junctions 35 and 34, near Wadworth.
The Hyundai was hit by the vehicle travelling behind, and three more vehicles also crashed.
South Yorkshire Police closed the carriageway for more than two hours following the incident at about 7.50pm on Boxing Day.
None of the occupants of the other vehicles were hurt.
