Transport awards bid

IMPROVEMENTS to Doncaster railway station have helped South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive be shortlisted for two national transport awards.

It has been named as a contender in the Joe Clarke Passenger Transport Authority of the Year and Improvements to Bus Services awards.

The improvements to the Trafford Way station included new lifts and better access. Last year SYPTE won the Joe Clarke Passenger Transport Authority of the Year category.

This year's entries for the awards also covered the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Academy which is a learning partnership between SYPTE and Doncaster College, and the pioneering Carbon Quids campaign run last September for European Mobility Week.
