TODAY'S WOMAN: Designers aid victims of war
Harper's Bazaar has brought together some of the UK's top British female designers to create a range of 'must have' limited edition T-shirts in aid of Women for Women International, a charity helping women whose lives have been shattered by war.
The T-shirt campaign marks the 100th year of International Women's Day, yesterday.
It was born out of a meeting between Harper's Bazaar Editor, Lucy Yeomans and Baghdad-born Women for Women International founder, Zainab Salbi. Lucy was so moved by Zainab's tireless efforts, and the way her organisation works, that she was determined to find a way that Bazaar could unite women in the fashion industry to support her cause.
As a result, Harper's Bazaar asked designers - Alice Temperley, Bella Freud, Charlotte Dellal, Holly Fulton, Betty Jackson, Pringle of Scotland, Sienna Miller for Twenty8Twelve, Tamara Mellon for Jimmy Choo, Nicole Farhi, Pam Hogg and Amanda Wakeley - to design the T-shirts.
The collectors' items went on sale on net.a.porter.com yesterday.
