Dare you make a dramatic stand in 2014?

South Yorkshire’s award-winning hair and beauty salon Russell Eaton is encouraging customers to be daring by trying a new look for the New Year.

Set to be big this year are tousled mid-length styles, short bobs or pixie crops with a bold fringe. And the hot alternative? A long, straight ultra-slick cut, says Creative Director Robert Eaton.

“Everyone should make it their resolution to try something different, whether it’s changing your hair colour, getting a different cut or just trying something new. It’s fun and will leave you feeling great this New Year,” he adds.

“The catwalks are set to display styles such as pretty mermaid waves, elegant up-dos, quirky braids and lots of glamorous accessories.

One major trend from 2013, the classic ‘up-do’, is also set to continue into 2014, say the Eaton team. “This timeless style suits all hair types and colours, and can be easily created at home. It’s great for adding a fashionable twist to the office outfit but it can also be made quirky and fun, with enough glamour for a night out,” says Russell.

“Short hair is also back in trend, whether it’s a bold pixie crop or a sleek bob teamed with a fringe.”

The salon’s beauty team are tipping statement nails as another key style trend for 2014. “Expect embellished white, metallic or matte colours, striped detailing, playful nail art and moon manicures. It’s time to make your nails standout from the crowd and try a playful new look that will brighten up any outfit,” they say.
