Now here’s a sight you see all too rarely when you pop out for a pint – a lass playing darts. And she’s in the buff too.

Ten regulars at The Anvil pub in Stannington have kicked off their clothes for a naked charity calendar.

The only thing saving their modesty is strategically placed pint pots and beer pumps.

It’s worth raising a glass to, for sure.

The group, led by 24-year-old Leanne Cavanagh, of Wisewood, stripped for St Luke’s Hospice in Whirlow.

“My nan Edith Bradshaw was admitted there in the summer and everything they did for her there was fantastic,” a fully-clothed Leanne tells The Diary.

“After experiencing that sort of care I wanted to give something back, so I persuaded nine of my friends to help me create our very own special calendar.”

The volunteers range in age from their 20s to 50s, and they were all delighted with the shoot. Little wonder, perhaps – there was free champagne.

“The day of the shoot everybody had a great time,” says Leanne, a full time mum-of-one. “We had some Champagne and then just got on with it. The results are like the drinks at The Anvil – tasty.”

The calendar is officially launched at the pub, in Stannington Road, on November 23. £7.50 each.
