Students thrilled as soccer heroes visit for signing session
HUNDREDS of students met their footballing heroes at a signing session at Doncaster College's Hub campus.
First teamers from Championship newcomers Doncaster Rovers turned out in force to sign autographs for college students ahead of the new academic year.
It was the third time the squad had taken part in a signing session at The Hub and the event was as popular as ever. Darren Byfield, Richie Wellens, Matt Mills, Jason Price and James Coppinger were among those attending.
Childcare student Sarah Tomlinson, aged 16, of Balby, was one of those to meet her heroes. She said: "It was fantastic. My dad's met a couple of them before but now I can say that I met them all. It's been a great day."
Sport student Ben Frizzell, 15, of Scawthorpe, added: "It was brilliant to meet them, especially Richie Wellens and Jason Price. I haven't met any of them before so it was great to have a little chat with them."
The event was organised as part of the college's growing partnership with the Championship club.
