Students go a STEP further

MORE than 70 students have received certificates after successfully completing Doncaster College's STEP Project.

The project, which started in 1999, is aimed at giving students aged 14 to 16 a different experience – one which they were not getting at school.

Students can specialise in a number of areas, including sport, floristry, catering, plastering, animal care, construction, hair and beauty, motor vehicles and much more.

A celebration event to mark their achievement was held at The Hub.

STEP Project manager Cal Harrison said: "This event highlighted the fantastic achievements of our STEP Project students. The project continues to grow and it is great to see so many students achieving their goals.

"I hope to see many of the students around college in the future as they enrol on mainstream courses."
