Something to turn to in a crisis
EVERY household in Doncaster is to receive a guide from the council telling residents what to do when a crisis such as flooding or swine flu hits.
Bosses at the authority say the leaflets will contain helpful tips and checklists.
An 'emergency kit' will include vital telephone numbers and useful websites.
Jane Miller, the council's director for neighbourhoods and communities, said: "This emergency planning guide is being sent out across Doncaster to provide advice on what to do in a range of emergency situations, including flooding, fire and pandemic flu.
"The leaflet is part of the council's emergency planning community strategy which aims to ensure Doncaster is a safer place for residents to live and to provide residents with information so they are more prepared for emergency situations."
The leaflets are coming out as the town remembers the floods of 2007 with an exhibition at Doncaster Museum.
The Planning for Emergencies guide will be delivered to households in Doncaster during July.
